| Myra Josephberg MSW,
LMSW, LCSW is licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist
specializing in individual’s suffering from depression, anxiety,
post traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, borderline personality
disorder and trauma such as abuse, exposure to catastrophic events,
among others and bereavement.
Myra maintains a private
practice in Orange City. Her office is easily accessible by car
and convenient to public transportation. A warm and caring receptionist
welcomes each client. There is a playroom available exclusively
for the treatment of children, with a wide variety of interactive,
therapeutic toys that assist the child in feeling comfortable, in
a caring, nurturing atmosphere. Handicapped parking is available
and Myra’s office is handicapped accessible, both inside and
out.
With a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Education and a Master of Social Work Degree in Clinical
Social Work, Myra is licensed both in Florida and New York Additionally;
she has academic eligibility in school social work in the state
of Florida. Furthermore, Myra is an Adjunct Professor at a Florida
College.
Together, both Myra and
her clients work toward a common goal and strive to reach it. Because
Myra believes that an educated client can understand more about
his/her issues and be more able to overcome them, Myra’s goal
is to provide this education. It is with this in mind, that handouts,
pamphlets and books are provided to inform and assist clients in
understanding various components of their symptoms and issues.
Myra’s also holds
groups/workshops/seminars in stress management, assertiveness training,
empowerment, and mastering chronic pain, as well as in grief, loss
and bereavement. In addition, children’s groups are held concerning
grief and loss, stress management, and self-esteem.
Myra’s experiences
include working with children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly
in all areas mentioned, for the last 10 years. Additionally, she
has worked with handicapped and learning disabled children in New
York City, as well as providing therapy at a local mental health
center.
Counseling can help all
people with depression, anxiety, and other problems through growth,
inner development, personal relationships and spiritual development,
while empowering the individual to make changes, maintain charge
of his/her life and shed old ways of coping that no longer work,
for new ways that will.

Free personal growth workshops are offered to Community Organizations,
Clubs, Churches and Synagogues.
Myra can offer you quality
therapy and because she has a commitment to community mental health
needs, she provides in-house treatment and training programs, self-help
groups and a referral network to other community resources.
A SAFE, confidential
place is maintained for individuals in crisis or life transitions
to talk, sort out issues, and create new solutions to old problems.
Appointments can be made
for individual, couples and family counseling and/or for Personal
Growth Workshops by calling (386) 775-7726. Individual, couples,
and family sessions are 50 minutes in length. Groups are scheduled
for 1 to 1½ hours a week for a minimum of 8 weeks and are
limited in size. Workshops last between 1 hour and 1½ hours.
